DJ SPOTLIGHT: AustinB7
We’d like to introduce you to AustinB7 – Austin Fleenor
Tell us how you got started—what sparked your journey into DJing/producing?
I’ve been surrounded by music for as long as I can remember. My parents constantly had EDM playing around the house, so it naturally became a part of my world. When I was just 5 years old, I started experimenting with a DJ app on an iPad—tweaking and remixing my favorite tracks. That early curiosity sparked a passion that’s only grown since.
What are you most proud of when it comes to your brand or artistry?
I’m most proud of the growth I’ve experienced since I first started making music. Being surrounded by people who share the same passion has pushed me to evolve—not just creatively, but personally too. It’s helped me see music from new perspectives and constantly strive to elevate my sound.
What goals are you chasing right now as an artist?
Lately, I’ve been diving deep into sound design, working on crafting a style that truly feels like my own. My goal is to develop a signature sound—something instantly recognizable and uniquely mine. It’s an exciting challenge, and I can’t wait for the moment when people hear a track and know it’s me.

What’s the most memorable crowd moment you’ve had in the Dallas scene?
One of my favorite moments was playing at The Shack at Panther Island, where I had the chance to open for the headliner. The energy from the crowd was incredible—everyone was locked in, the vibes were perfect, and it was one of those sets where everything just clicked. Definitely a night I won’t forget.
If you could back‑to‑back with any Dallas DJ tomorrow, who would it be and what genre would you play?
It would be insane to b2b with TRIPTYKH. I’ve been following him for a while, and I really love the stuff he did with Psycho Boys Club. We would for sure play techno.
Best advice you’ve gotten from another artist?
The best advice I’ve gotten from another artist was to “Stay true to my sound, always refine your work, and stay humble.”
How do you discover new music to keep your sets fresh?
I keep my sets fresh by regularly checking DJ forums, staying on top of Friday releases, and exploring festival tracklists. I also pay close attention to what my favorite DJs are playing—it’s a great way to stay current, discover new sounds, and stay inspired.
