What PLURR Means To Us
If you've spent any time around the EDM community, you've probably heard the term PLURR.
Maybe you've seen it on kandi bracelets. Maybe you've heard someone mention it at a festival. Or maybe this is your very first time seeing the word and you're wondering what on earth everyone is talking about.
Either way, welcome.
PLURR is one of the foundational ideas that helped shape rave culture and continues to influence the EDM community around the world today.

PLURR stands for:
Peace. Love. Unity. Respect. Responsibility.
And don't forget the second "R"! For some reason over the last few years we have noticed it dropped off when being talked about...
At HAM Promotions, PLURR isn't just a slogan we put on a flyer.
It's one of the core reasons we started this company in the first place.

Peace
Life can be stressful.
Work, school, bills, relationships, responsibilities—sometimes it feels like the world never slows down.
For many people, music becomes an escape.
A place where they can let go of stress, dance with friends, and simply enjoy the moment.
Peace is about creating an environment where everyone feels comfortable being themselves.
No drama.
No negativity.
No judgment.
Just good music and good people.
Love
Love is one of the easiest parts of PLURR to feel.
It's the excitement of sharing your favorite artist with a friend.
It's celebrating someone's birthday at a show.
It's the smile from a stranger when your favorite song comes on.
It's the energy of thousands of people singing together as one.
Love reminds us that music has the power to connect people in ways few other things can.
Unity
One of the most beautiful things about the EDM community is the diversity of people it brings together.
Walk into any event and you'll find people from different backgrounds, cultures, careers, ages, and walks of life all standing side by side.
The music doesn't care who you are.
The dance floor doesn't care where you came from.
For a few hours, everyone is united by a shared experience.
That's what makes this community special.
Respect
Respect is one of the most important values in any community.
Respect the artists who put their heart into their craft.
Respect the staff working hard behind the scenes.
Respect the venue.
Respect the people dancing around you.
Respect personal space and boundaries.
And perhaps most importantly, respect yourself.
Everyone deserves to enjoy events in an environment where they feel safe, welcome, and free to be themselves.
Responsibility
This is the one people often forget.
But it's also one of the most important.
Responsibility means taking care of yourself and the people around you.
Stay hydrated.
Know your limits.
Have a plan to get home safely.
Look after your friends.
Help someone who might need assistance.
If you see something concerning, say something.
The strongest communities aren't built by people only looking after themselves.
They're built by people looking after one another.
Without Responsibility, the rest of PLURR doesn't work nearly as well.

What Is Kandi?
If you've attended a rave before, you've probably seen colorful beaded bracelets called kandi.
For decades, kandi has been a symbol of friendship, positivity, and connection within rave culture.
Many people exchange kandi using a special handshake that represents the values of PLURR.
The exchange often starts with two people making a peace sign, followed by a heart, joining hands, showing respect, and finally exchanging the bracelet.
While kandi might seem like a simple bracelet to someone outside the community, for many ravers it represents a meaningful moment and a reminder that we're all connected through music.
Some people have entire collections of kandi that remind them of friendships, festivals, and unforgettable experiences over the years.
PLURR Beyond The Dance Floor
One of the things we love most about PLURR is that it doesn't stop when the music ends.
It's the person who notices someone standing alone and invites them into their group.
It's helping someone find a lost phone.
It's checking on someone who looks overwhelmed.
It's supporting local artists before they become headliners.
It's showing kindness when nobody is expecting it.
These small moments may not seem important at the time, but they're the moments that transform a crowd into a community.
Over the years we've watched countless friendships form through the Dallas EDM scene.
We've watched people meet at events and later become roommates, business partners, best friends, and even spouses.
That doesn't happen because of a lineup.
It happens because of the people.

Why PLURR Matters To HAM Promotions
When we started HAM Promotions in 2017, our goal was never simply to throw events.
We wanted to help build a community.
A place where people could discover new music.
A place where local artists could grow.
A place where newcomers could feel welcome.
A place where people could create memories they'll talk about years later.
Since then, we've had the privilege of hosting hundreds of events, supporting hundreds of artists, and welcoming thousands of people into the community.
Some of our favorite memories have nothing to do with ticket sales, attendance numbers, or sold-out shows.
They're the moments where we see PLURR in action.
The stranger helping someone pick up everything they dropped on the dance floor.
The group adopting the nervous first-time raver standing by themselves.
The artist staying after a show to meet every fan who waited in line.
The customer returning a lost wallet with everything still inside.
Those moments matter.
Those moments are why we do what we do.
Keeping The Culture Alive
The EDM community continues to grow every year.
New artists emerge.
New fans discover electronic music.
New generations find their way onto the dance floor.
That's exciting.
But growth also comes with responsibility.
If we want this culture to continue thriving, we have to pass along the values that helped build it in the first place.
PLURR isn't about being perfect.
It's about making a conscious effort to treat people with kindness, compassion, and respect.
The future of this culture isn't determined by promoters, venues, artists, or festivals alone.
It's determined by all of us.
Every interaction matters.
Every act of kindness matters.
Every person contributes to the experience.

PLURR Stories From The Dallas EDM Community
Over the years we've had the privilege of watching PLURR come to life in countless ways throughout the Dallas EDM community.
Some moments are big.
Most are small.
But together they remind us why this culture is so special.
The First-Time Raver
One of our favorite sights at an event is seeing a first-time attendee walk through the doors.
At the beginning of the night they're often nervous, unsure what to expect, and sometimes standing alone.
By the end of the night they're laughing with new friends, dancing without a care in the world, and already asking when the next event is.
Watching people find their place within the community is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
The Kandi Exchange
We've watched complete strangers meet while waiting for an artist to take the stage.
A conversation starts.
A friendship forms.
A kandi bracelet gets exchanged.
What looks like a simple bracelet to some people often represents a meaningful moment and a reminder that kindness still exists.
Looking Out For One Another
One of the most common examples of PLURR we see is people helping people.
Someone finds a lost phone and turns it in.
Someone offers water to a stranger who needs it.
Someone helps reunite a person with their group after getting separated.
These moments rarely make headlines, but they happen every weekend and serve as a reminder that this community genuinely cares about one another.
More Than Just Music
Over the years we've seen friendships, business partnerships, and even relationships begin through the Dallas EDM scene.
Many people arrive looking for a great night out.
Some leave having found something much bigger: a community.
That's the magic of PLURR.
And it's one of the reasons we continue doing what we do.
Welcome Home
Whether you're a longtime raver, a curious newcomer, or someone attending their very first event this weekend, we're glad you're here.
Thank you for being part of this incredible community.
Thank you for helping keep PLURR alive.
And thank you for helping make Dallas one of the most welcoming EDM communities in the country.
We'll see you on the dance floor.
